Ep 59 / Chatting with Miguel de la Cierva about making your dream your life

I have been spending my summers near San Vicente do Mar, in O Grove, for 20 years, and it has always seemed to me like an oasis in the middle of the urban madness of the Rías Bajas, a paradise anchored in time, and now I have finally understood it!

What started as a podcast to talk about music starts with a story that defines this place. As we always say, values are what make a mark, and being the son of the promoter of this urbanization, his family, the architecture and even the economic ruin are some of the stories that lead Miguel to continue the Nautico de San Vicente after his sisters. .

What for him was a magical place to have a drink and play music, was the same for everyone who went there, so little by little he turned the potential into reality. Miguel went to Madrid with his photos to show the place to convince the musicians, and word of mouth did the rest. From Los Limones, Los Potros, Iván and Amaro Ferreiro, Leiva, Jorge Drexler and even Vetusta Morla have played on their stage, bathed on the beach and dined in their kitchen. Last summer, 65 performances in 30 days filled the calendar and started with an anniversary party where the documentary “El Nautico” was premiered. The refuge of the Musicians .

The musicians also come with an open mind, to have fun and collaborate, to do the concert that they cannot do in other places. Which makes every night special and different than anything you've ever been to before. Of course this has its complicated side, when in the middle of August you bring someone like Leiva and Ferreiro, that is not Nautico, that is Leiva and Ferreiro and 3000 people who want to listen to them even if it is from a distance.

Like everything in life you have to evolve, and Miguel has several plans for the new decade, which we are delighted with.

Enjoy this podcast while you imagine yourself on the beach with an Estrella Galicia in your hand
