Ep 58 / Chatting with Inés Susaeta about being inspired by Nature
The first time I saw a piece by Inés Susaeta I felt a crush, it was as if they were talking to me and taking me with them to my happiest place. This is what his pieces do to the people who discover them!
Inés' story is coherent, and her pieces have the whole story in them. His love for the sea comes from when he was born, since his father was one of the pioneers of surfing in Spain, so the whole family lived a daily connection with the beach and the sea. It is not strange that instead of thinking about diamonds, his treasures were the small stones he found, and that he kept knowing to what time they belonged apart from the place. A happy day in a perfect place.
Her company is also very much about family, she makes each piece by hand one by one, her brother Nikola keeps the accounts, her husband Iker takes the photos and both her daughter and her parents are part of its core, as is her sister-in-law Isabel run by Abasotas catering. This tribe that grows and breathes together is already looking for a place to work together starting next year, in a large space near the sea, since for them family is a capital value.
As lovers of the sea, they are much more than that, they are its guardians, and they collaborate as a company with the NGO 1% for the Planet , all their packaging is recycled and they clean the beach every time they go to it, because as Inés says it is a real problem. To solve the problem they advocate being responsible, consistent with our actions and changing our lifestyle.
We hope you enjoy this podcast as much as we do.
