Ep 69 / Chatting with Ari Ferret about defeats and his collaboration with zubi

A collaboration like our wool bags is too great to lack a podcast, partly about this adventure that is Maison Penedès and partly about Ari and his life adventures.

Ari is one of my first internet friends, those people you deliberately became friends with, like a soulmate found in a crowded world, and whom you would never have met if you hadn't been an internet geek 12 years ago. That world united us, blogs then had the naive point of throwing bottles into the sea with messages and waiting for someone to answer you. They were not a business, it was a one-on-one conversation, the one who wrote and the one who answered were on the same level, they were not followers, they were friends united by a hobby that made them feel accompanied.

Ariadna Ferret paved the way in the digital world with a Fashionisima website, full of content that she made alone, and where she worked tirelessly to bring that dream to a real business. By day she earned her living as an editor at a magazine, and at night on her project. As he tells us, he lived through the boom of fashion magazines, and the emergence of websites and communities from within, streetstyle, Instagram... and how images and special content took over everything else. As he tells us in this podcast, the dream became very big and he ran into insurmountable barriers based on enthusiasm and work. She doesn't blame anyone for it, but changing the rules and the way of playing takes its toll, and she was one of them.

When everything fell apart he realized the chain of errors committed. I thought that writing was enough, that good content could do everything, and that is not the case. You can do very clever things by overcoming shortcomings, but there are barriers that you cannot raise: for example the price of paper, advertisers... It was very difficult to compete in numbers, content and friendship with the big ones.

After a time retired, recovering her humanity, from her Maison Penedés where she lives with her husband and son, she is building a punch needle empire. As she says, crafts have helped her, but she needs to communicate and share, so this business is an excuse to have a blog on hand and tell stories.

Motherhood has also opened another means of communication for her, which is her podcast, Madres , where she shares the birth experiences of women of all types, which are neither good nor bad, they are just experiences to listen to and prepare for that moment.

She says she is 100% convinced that Spain is not a country for entrepreneurs, and in that I agree with her. I think every day about the anguish of many people, knowing that the month expires tomorrow, I have to pay and I don't know what I'm going to feed my son. That helplessness that he experienced years ago has been revived with the covid, and he knows it. Has been

The clarity with which Ari speaks about the good and the bad is wonderful, she has always lived for herself and it shows, she has a strength that she does not know and an enormous capacity for communication and work.

I leave you with a podcast that talks about many things with overwhelming sincerity with a luxury communicator, enjoy it!
