Ep 48 / Chatting with Mercedes and Elena Zubi about "end of course" reflections
Today's podcast is the last of the 2nd season of “Chatting with Zubi” and we wanted to say goodbye in a big way. My sister Elena and I have sat down to take stock of the year – which for us runs from September to July – reflect, value the experience acquired, both good and bad, and see our evolution. Every year is a learning experience and this one has been quite intense.
We have recorded a very sincere podcast about the good and bad of having a company and we hope that you learn from our successes and mistakes, as we have also learned from ours and those of others. They are very hard, but they leave you new to improve.
The first good thing has been the launch of our clothing category, on which we have worked very hard and which has exceeded our expectations from every angle, we are super happy! Another positive point has been growing as a team. People who have been with us for a while have risen in responsibility and commitment to the brand. An achievement that we are very proud of because they are people who contribute a lot. We have also learned that when you improve work spaces, you improve productivity, balance our lives, both personally and professionally (this has been a real effort) and surround ourselves with wonderful people outside of zubi who help us with certain “emergencies”.
We talk about the hard learnings about the other side of the coin of making a clothing collection. You don't know how different the entire production and design phase is, it's an infinite world! It has been very complicated. Another complex point for us this year is the uncertainty of the future. Fashion is experiencing a total catharsis and everything is very unstable. Other difficult things have been finishing fine-tuning our values, dealing with technology – having all the gear synchronize well with your website is a miracle! – and the tensions we sometimes have between sisters. We are learning as we go!
This is just a summary of the many business topics that we talk about in this podcast, in which we have opened ourselves 100% with you to show you everything that costs us the most and to get to know us a little better from the inside. Fundamental learning points for better and worse.
We hope you like it as much as we liked recording it and that you listen to it on loop this summer. We leave you with him.
