Ep 52 / Chatting with Nino Redruello about creativity, family and inheritance
In today's podcast we bring a guest who is a friend and who has a fantastic career behind him that only grows and gets bigger every day. Nino Redruello is a chef, with 6 restaurants with very different concepts under his charge ( La Ancha , Gabino's Tortillas , The Cabinet and Fismuler ) and who also advises many others gastronomically based on the experience acquired working in a kitchen since he was 15 years old.
What surprises most is his honesty, his love of a job well done, his passion and his infinite love for his family. He knows that he owes everything to those who are close, like his wife, his parents and his uncles, but also to those who are no longer here, like his grandparents and great-grandparents, who built the business from scratch and by hand. His family sneaks in endlessly, from his first moments in the kitchen following his uncle and mentor, to the current moment, in which his 4 children anchor him to the reality of everyday life, of mashed vegetables and championships. of pizza. In the talk we also have moments to talk about effort, training and passion. How concepts are essential to differentiate yourself in a hyperconnected world, and that ideas arrive when you have made the bed for them to arrive, keeping your eyes wide open and absorbing everything that surrounds us like sponges. He was lucky, or passionate, since he learned from the best, and in 2002 in The Bulli He paired him with Ferrán Adriá, from whom he soaked up his genius and excellence. He also learned early on that many times you have to look where there is no one, empty space is where opportunities are found, risk equals the success you can achieve, and in those places spark and surprise are also found.
While we wait for this new concept that has been announced to us and that will open soon in Barcelona, we invite you to enjoy this conversation.
Thank you Nino for dedicating this time to us!
