Ep 54 / Chatting with Ana Escalera about screen printing and our Madrid Craft Week tote
We have been preparing this workshop and this podcast with Ana for months. Months in which keeping quiet has been difficult since it was something we have been dreaming of for many years.
Few people know that before starting zubi, when we were looking for who could print our first bag, we were with Ana at Hola Por Qu é seeing if it was viable to do it with screen printing. In the end the amount of colors became unfeasible, but I never forgot that one day those octopuses and those panels would return to my life.
A few months ago we contacted Ana to make the Madrid Craft Week event more crafty than we could, and it involved her designing a special screen-printed zubi and also daring to do it live.
With this excuse we have also taken the opportunity to talk to her about screen printing, manual work, crafts, self-taught learning and the excitement of taking your work to the next level, in this case tomorrow about her new project called The Present Perfect , and in it stretches the limits of screen printing to incredible levels and dares with 10 meter fabrics, or wonderful gradients.
The bag we have collaborated on is a special limited edition made with love and sold only in our Zurbano 22 store and in the online store.
Enjoy the podcast and our special bag!
