workshops / denim can be sustainable

At zubi we have a maxim, we do not force to release any product for which we do not have the perfect partner. The search for a denim supplier was an obsession for years, and when they appeared and told us their story and process everything finally fell into place.

Our denim workshop is very special, located in the Albacete area, it has been dedicated to the textile industry for 40 years, and in this time they have specialized in denim for pants in which they are experts.

In these 2000s they have not only grown in production, but they have focused on sustainability and reducing their CO2 and waste emissions to zero. They know that you cannot talk about sustainability without taking into account the environment that surrounds us and the protection of our land. In order to be able to produce sustainably, it is essential to talk about circularity and infinite production with finite resources.

This circularity has 3 moments, pre-consumer, where all the remains of the denim cut are classified and taken to a waste manager that processes it and creates yarn for the automotive sector, waste analysis, with water purifiers from the washing machines and recovering them as sludge slabs for use in other industrial sectors, and in post-consumer, recycling already used jeans and converting them into yarn for a new garment.

As the textile industry is one of the most polluting, and they are aware of many bad practices that occur around them, they have made it their mission to reverse this situation:

"We want to make the world a better place without leaving aside a profession that has lasted almost half a century, and we firmly believe that both things are compatible."

After years of research and a lot of effort, they have managed to combine different techniques that allow them to be a brand that respects our environment. They have united this set of techniques under the same umbrella called Greensight. Greensight is a sustainable production process that consists of working with biomass, dyeing the jeans with misting, washing them with ozone and finishing them with laser finishing technology.

The design must be respectful and it fills us with pride to know that our jeans use recycled cotton, their manufacturing is as sustainable as possible and they are also the best jeans we could make.
